Consultant Radiologist – special interest in paediatric radiology

Applications are invited for a new Consultant Radiologist post with a special interest in paediatric imaging. This new post will include sessional commitments in both paediatric and general radiology at the University Hospital of Wales, Cardiff, together with dedicated sessions in paediatric imaging at the Princess of Wales Hospital, Bridgend.

The post holder will join an existing team of four Paediatric Radiologists in Cardiff to share and develop the provision of services to the Cardiff and Vale and the Abertawe Bro Morgannwg (East) Health Boards as part of the South Wales Collaborative long-term plan for paediatric imaging.

There is initially a commitment to the body radiology on-call rota within Cardiff and Vale UHB although with expansion in the number of paediatric radiologists in South East Wales, it is anticipated that a dedicated paediatric radiology on-call rota will be developed in the future.

Cardiff and Vale University Health Board is recognised as a teaching centre of excellence in a wide range of clinical services.

Academic interests will be encouraged; research and teaching in collaboration with Cardiff University’s School of Medicine will be expected.

Although this post is full-time, consideration will be given to applicants who require flexible working arrangements.

Applicants should either be on the Specialist Register or be a Specialist Registrar within six months of their expected date of receipt of a CCT / CESR(CP) at the time of interview.

You will be able to take advantage of the excellent Consultant contract for Wales. The basic salary range for this post is £73,656 per annum to £95,626 per annum plus a further £25,889 per annum available in Commitment Awards.

Applicants must ensure they provide the names and contact details of referees covering at least the last three years of their employment/training history in full. In addition, applicants who are currently or have most recently been employed as a substantive Consultant or as a Locum Consultant in post for more than 12 months must also provide the name of their Medical Director as an additional referee.
