The Radiology department is clinically led and we are a friendly and dynamic group of 14 radiologists covering all major subspecialties. With the overnight on-call CT service being outsourced, the service is keen to allow for a suitable work-life balance. We are setting up work stations for home reporting. We are well equipped with 3 CT scanners (two 128 and one 64 slice – including cardiac CT); 3 MRI scanners (one fixed, a second fixed being installed and a mobile scanner); theatre-specification interventional suite and daybed area; fully equipped nuclear medicine facility including a fixed on-site PET-CT; USS machines; DR rooms; Dexa scanner; PACS system and a fully equipped breast unit.
This is a great opportunity to join and influence future developments of an expanding department. As our services continue to expand, we have a range of jobs to suit radiologists at any stage of their career. We are keen to hear from radiologists with any subspecialty interests including Oncological, Gastro-intestinal, Nuclear Medicine, PET-CT, Paediatrics, Neuroradiology, Interventional radiology (Vascular and non-vascular), Musculoskeletal, Cardiac, Thoracic, Breast imaging etc. If required, we can offer further sub-speciality training locally or the opportunity to visit other centres whilst working here.
We will support your academic interests, locally and/or by attendance at tertiary centres. There are opportunities for teaching radiology registrars, radiographers and medical students. We are also in the process of setting up fellowship programmes for sub-speciality training. We have a study leave allocation of 10 days per year and a generous study leave budget made available to consultants. A relocation package is also available.
The hospital has an excellent Postgraduate Medical Centre as well as on-site recreational facilities, which include a large sports centre with a well appointed gym and swimming pool. There is also a children’s nursery on site.
