POST OF: LOCUM CONSULTANT IN MEDICAL ONCOLOGY
A new full time 10PA post as locum consultant in Medical Oncology is available at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Trust.
The post specialises in Lung, NET and Urological Cancer, and will work with Dr Meenali Chitnis, Dr Niki Panakis, Dr Robert Stuart and Dr Geoff Higgins in the OUH Lung cancer Oncology service, with Dr Andrew Weaver for the NET service and Professor Andrew Protheroe, Dr Meenali Chitnis and Dr Mark Tuthill in the OUH Medical Oncology Urological cancer service. The post holder will be specialising in the management of prostate and germ cell cancer within that team. The post holder will also undertake an acute oncology ward round at the John Radcliffe Hospital weekly.
The Oncology department in Oxford moved into a new £110M cancer centre in 2009. Chemotherapy is prescribed using a pan-cancer network e-prescribing system (Aria). The early phase trials team run by the Oxford University Department of Oncology is fully integrated with the NHS department, and there is a full NIHR/CRN funded late phase research team to support recruitment into clinical trials and to ensure opportunities for all patients to be involved in clinical research.
