Locum Consultant Radiologist

Applicants are invited for a Locum Consultant Radiologist post at the Northern Devon Healthcare NHS Trust. This is a Fixed Term position for 3 months (June, July and August 2017) in the first instance with the view to extend pending substantive recruitment.

The Radiology Department is friendly and provides high quality general and specialist services which are greatly appreciated by the Hospital doctors and GPs. On call is Consultant to Consultant referral, and the rota is one in seven with cross cover. A laptop is provided for on call, with reporting from home. Overnight scans (9pm-8am) are reported by registrars via shared PACS and CRIS covering four local Trusts, and an outsourcing company. The general workload includes x-ray reporting, potentially an ultrasound list and MDT meetings. Liaison duties include providing radiological opinions, vetting and reporting CT and MRI scans for inpatients. Outpatient CT & MRI scans are allocated on a quota basis. We have a registrar from the Peninsula Radiology Academy. The hospital is operating within budget, and scored second in England in a recent “family and friends” survey.

Applicants must be fully registered with the General Medical Council with licence to practice and be eligible for inclusion on the GMC’s Specialist Register (or expected entry within six months from the date of interview).
