Barnsley Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has a reputation for being one of the friendliest hospitals in the country, with good levels of care and low infection rates.
We provide acute hospital services for around 250,000 people living in and around Barnsley – and indeed further afield. Some of our services, such as maternity, attract mums to be from outside our catchment area. Our annual turnover is £150 million and we employ around 3,000 staff.
Right now, we are responding to the significant challenges facing the NHS with a substantial transformation programme. Our plans include physical changes, such as a multi-million pound development in our emergency department, as well as service changes – and these are being developed in the eight transformation programmes that are already underway. Perhaps more importantly, our plans include you in the development of great ideas that will help shape our future.
We have recently worked with our staff and patients to develop values that we are strongly committed to. Treating you as you would wish to be treated yourself is high on the agenda, as is working together and focusing on individual and diverse needs.
As an organisation, we are committed to the fair treatment of our staff, potential staff or users of our service, regardless of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, responsibilities for dependents, age, physical/mental disability or offending background. We actively promote equality of opportunity for all with the right mix of talent, skills, and potential and welcome applications from a wide range of candidates. We select all candidates for interview based on their skills, qualifications, and experience.
Applications are welcomed from people who wish to apply for a position on the basis of a job share or flexible working arrangement. Where candidates are successful at interview, such requests will be taken under consideration and accommodated where the needs of the service allow.
As an employee of Barnsley Hospital, you have access to one of the most generous and comprehensive pension schemes in the UK.
